FarSight

FarSight was a personal portfolio and net-worth tracker built to follow stocks, ETFs, crypto, and precious metals all in one place. I built it in Replit to replace a finance-tracking website that was about to start charging a subscription.

What it did

• Net Worth overview - total assets, an asset-breakdown chart (ASX, cash, crypto, funds, metals, property) and total liabilities, all at a glance.
• Portfolio overview - total value, cost, gain/loss and return %, plus per-holding detail with live price refresh, dividend detection, upcoming dividends and CSV import.
• Income Streams and a Tax Report view.

Where it landed

I built it out to about 80%, then realised I didn’t actually need all the functionality I’d planned, so I switched to a simpler self-hosted tracker I run locally. A good build, and a good lesson in scoping to what you’ll really use.
